In 2016 Supreme Services began working with an equipment manufacturer and a 3D software provider to develop a more efficient and accurate means of inspecting equipment.
Utilizing accurate high-definition 3D scanning hardware from FARO Technologies and Polyworks computer software, SSI has begun scanning equipment to perform non-contact measurement, critical seal area inspection, and wear trending on select critical equipment.
Inspection templates can be developed based on OEM provided specifications, industry standards, and/or other provided criteria. After an item is scanned, the 3D model is compared to the inspection template in the software for analysis. Results are recorded on a report that depicts all pertinent inspection information, including pass/fail results if required.
Still in the early stages of development, SSI is working on new 3D scanning applications to continuously improve upon the quality of inspection techniques and data analysis.
